Safety is of great importance for people who are at sea regularly. Even the most experienced mariners will be dependant on safety equipment if a distress situation should arise in open sea. We can recommend from a range of safety equipment, including Emergency Positioning Radio Beacons (EPIRBs) and Radar Transponders (SARTs).

When you activate a Jotron EPIRB it starts transmitting vehicle identity and positioning signals to the COSPAS/SARSAT satellites, a world wide search and rescue system which has been saving lives since 1982. The satellite forwards the signal to a Ground Receiving Station (LUT) where also the position will be calculated and transferred to a Mission Control Centre (MCC). The necessary commands will be sent to the right Rescue Control Centre (RCC) which will co-ordinate the rescue operation.
